A friend gave me this sks.  Had the rear site wired down.  The site does not stay in or on the gun.  There is the rear site itself and a site spring???  Is there anything else that keeps them on the gun?  Can I get a picture of someone's rear site?

Thanks

I just tried taking a few pictures of one of my SKS's, but cant get a good enough picture of the detail.

A quick google search gave teh following

Short answer is yes, just the flat spring, and the sight body are all you need.

The spring slides in first, then there should be slots (just under the '27' in the second picture) with openings towards the butt of the rifle.  Place the sight tab flat on the rifle in front of those slots. I use a screwdriver to hold down the spring while I slide the tabs of the sight tab/body, keeping the sight body as flat against the rifle as you can.  In the first picture, it appears he is using a nail puch rather than a screwdriver.  At the back of the slots, you can sort of see how the slots in the rifle become arches.  The spring tension will push the sight tab up into those arches and should hold it in place. You should be good, but let me know if this doesn't help.

Some models have pins - notice the hollow portion of the rear sight and the place where it sets.  Drive a small pin through and that should help.

AIm has springs.  Not sure if they will fit yours, maybe they can tell you if you give them a call.
