About two years ago I bought a Yugo M59 (non-matching serials). Today I just purchased a Norinco SKS with matching serials but no bayonet ($200). Ok.....I want to get a Tapco Fusion kit* (dodges rotten vegetables from the peanut gallery) but I'm not sure which weapon I should put it on. My first instinct is to use the Yugo. However, I like the blade bayonet and don't want to "lose" it after switching over to a broomhandle on the Fusion kit. However, I can't put it on the Norinco because the stock is made for spike bayonets. Pulling apart the Norinco seems counter-intuitive and wasteful... Any ideas? *I already have an M4. I don't want an AK (well, I do...but....). I figure if I slap one of these kits on an SKS, you get a reasonably-accurate high-capacity weapon that fires 7.62x39 and is equipped with rails for roughly the same price as a mid-range AK without rails. |

When I first got my Romy, I put everything new and tacticool I could find on the thing. Just before I took it to the range for the first time, I looked at it. I actually LOOOKED at it and thought, what the heck did I do to this poor rifle. This is not how it was meant to be. I took off all the aftermarket parts and sold them. I was surprised how fast they went (lots of people love the Tapco stuff). Now I'm really glad I did. Every time I take my bad boy out people flock over eventually because its a really nice specimen if I do say so myself. Keep it as it was intended. Just my .02. |
