hi,

thanks for your interest ! To be honest, I've just received it last week and tried it sunday, but as it s fobidden to shoot "high power" on sunday, I've only shooted 6-7 rounds. All worked good, no problem.
the manticore is very usefull, I was suprised by the control of the AK, the recoil is very very reduced. It s a real comp.
I could tell you more next week-end when I could shoot more rounds.

after that, I should fired with a can

Thanks for the pics. The the larger AFG does extend well beyond the front of the rail. I still debating if I want to add a MI quad rail and add the smaller AFG2

If I have to set up a grip, I would install a Tango Down Q.D. Stubby Vertical Grip.

Pulled it off gunbroker circa 2009-2010. Don't know if the guy is still doing them (didn't see any when I checked), but I'm 90% sure they were imports at the time.

Originally came painted black, sandblasted and added chestnut ridge walnut stain. Had to purchase the upper handguard from ironwood designs separately. Getting the stains to take evenly between the two pieces was a challenge. the secret was lots of applications.

Also, it was originally for a milled receiver, so I had to add some material (plywood) to the receiver tab.

My Stamp came in Saturday of last week and my rifle arrived today from Troy Sellars at InRange. The discoloration on the reciever in the pics is just styrofoam dust from shipping.

Its a 1984 Tula kit with Nodak Spud sidefolding reciever and Blue Jack barrel.

I really like your setup. I'm would like to go with the Midwest rail and rmr as well. I'll be shooting 7n6 and am wondering if it will be a problem as far as removing the gas tube after every shoot to clean. I don't want to have to re zero the optic but I'm also not sure on how the top rail portion secured onto the rifle.

Just picked it up a few weeks back and thru on some stain and booster and magpul grip, all it needs now is a stamp and side folder..but until then..

krink2 by Armed Ferret, on Flickr

Bulgarian kit with original barrel, bought for about 600ish many moons ago. Russian handguards, Ronin grip. Need to blast/park/coat it still; 2sf was parked a while ago but I want the whole thing to be uniform.

Yugo M92 kit, original barrel, about 450ish back in the day. Underfolders suck to shoot, so it has a triangle too. May go polymer on it, with MI handguards, stormwerkz rail, red dot and a brake. I'm putting the brake on first to see how effective it is. Provided it passes, the M92 will be my "practical" AK. Purists can self-fornicate.

OK I finally decided to drill some holes in my topcover and put on a Stormwerkz rail and Aimpoint H-1. I don't like the rails over the barrel. Just me...
Polytech RR machinegun, POHF conversion with Tula kit, Bluejack V3 barrel. Shoots great...

7.62x39 Krinkov style AK rifle.

Sleeved the side folder push pin with a 30-06 shell then ran pin through it to keep stock folded for CA. The barrel assembly is from a demilled Yugo M92 pistol with a fake PBS suppressor permanently pinned to the barrel to keep the 16"+ fed minimum length.
Metal parts sprayed in Brownell's Alumahyde flat black.

Wood is from Ironwood Designs. MinWax Red Oak, layer of bright red Trans tint soaked right on top of that stain, then a 8:2 mixture of brownish red+bright red transtint dye mixed with clear semi gloss polyurethane base x2, then spray on top coat of gloss clear polyurethane. I should have stuck to only on layer of the brownish red+bright red trans tint clear polyurethane mix; as it turned out too dark and totally blacked out the astounding fire brick/black cherry red it had after the first coat but refinishing that is something ill do later down the road.

The pistol grip is a cheap $10 Romanian one, as I could not bring myself to paying $50 shipped for a true russian brown bakelite one that would be correct to a krinkov. Close enough for my knockoff krinkov.
Got the arsenal reproduction krinkov sling from MidWay.
The M92 top cover pull pin comes from Ronin grips website.
Among the challenging parts of this build that come to mind is the installation of the side folder retaining latch for if I move out of state some day. I used a surgical hemostat to feed that spring in. The M92 pistol trunion doesnt have the stepped/less material front trunnions, so I needed to endmill out 2mm deep groove for the side folder latch assembly to move about. The side folder kit is the made in Taiwan one from AK-builder. No ill words to say about it.
I don't know if I want to polish the bolt carrier or black it out.
Not a lot of material if any was removed from the receiver to get the side folder parts to fit.

BRO! details please, and more pics! How is that barrel threaded for your muzzle device, qd mount, etc? what left side charging handle is that? camo job? does it get 4 wheel drive? does it get good gas mileage? Are you going to drive all the way to France? (movie reference)

Seriously, great looking AK, looking at doing some similar things to suppress one, so any insight would be awesome. THANKS!

EDIT: Clicked on your link, absolutely great idea... will be doing the same!!!

Thanks guys. The muzzle work idea was from brother xjedix's saiga project, so I cant take the credit.

Details:
Arsenal SLR107UR SBR
FSGB milled back and barrel threaded 1/2x28 (Can still run 24mm devices as well, with remaining threads..Im a fan of the 4 piece)
Specwar 762 can,  556 Trifecta QD Muzzle Brake drilled out for .30cal
Bulgy flip peep top cover (kvar) with small picatinny mount Tig welded on top (works great) Gives lower 1/3 co-witness.
LHCH is a custom job. The handle was turned out of a standard gas piston. Scope rail removed.
MC paint job is just rattle can with 5 colors or so (IIRC) stickers, layering etc

The next project is a thumb safety lever.
