I am looking into setting up a trust to put my krinkov in. I live in Maryland and cannot find a lawyer to help me with this. Everyone I call has no idea that this was even possible. I contacted the ATF and they feel that many of the trusts that people have set up may be fakes. I am looking for some help in finding a lawyer to help set one up for me. My krink is waiting for me!! Thanks

Fakes in what respect?

When I mean "fake" I mean they used and internet site or some other option that is not the appropriate way to set up a trust. I know very little about trusts, but the man I spoke to on the phone with the ATF led me to believe that there are some ways to set up a trust that are not a legal trust. I am sure there are plenty of ways to set one up over the internet that are fine, but I am trying to cover all of my bases.

I tried the same thing a while back, and then just decided to do the fingerprint and picture route. Of course my County will sign off on it, if yours won't, and a trust is the only way to go, just call up any family law firm and ask to set up a revocable trust.  You don't have to specify it's for a firearm. It doesn't matter what is in the trust either, it can be anything, the point is to get it set up right.

The ATF told you it's fake because they're not a business, they're getting paid the same regardless and they've been inundated all year long.  As long as the correct legal verbiage is there it's not a "fake".  It's only fake if it was forged by someone else without your knowledge and the signatures and witnesses were all forged.  But the ones that come from a package from internet are not fakes.  There are lawyers that are based out of state that will do them for you despite the fact that you don't live in their state.  It's a good thing to have.  It makes some people nervous going the trust route.  Others are fine with it.

I live in a county that no way in hell are they gonna sign off.  If I wanted my Krink then I was going to be setting up a trust and there was no other way around it (except an LLC and that's just as hassle, any way you slice it).  I bought a "kit" from a place down state from me for around $50.  I carefully filled everything out.  Granted, it's pre-printed and you simply fill in all the blanks but what do you think somebody setting up an NFA trust for you is going to do?  Think up and write a new one for everybody?  No.  They're gonna do the same thing, only based on the wording they came up with......which will look remarkably similar to what most all the others are set up with.

Bottom line, you'll never get everybody to agree on this.  But I was willing enough to go the pre-written Trust route and CAREFULLY filled it all out.  Worked marvelously.  I even spoke with the NFA examiner, who is very pleasant by the way, and feel good enough not to worry.  People get overcautious with this kinda thing because of something they "heard".  I can't say I blame them.  I have had a run-in with the ATF way back in the past, and I assure you it wasn't pleasant.  And no, I'm no reckless.  I just honestly feel confident enough that I'm covered.
