My kit is on the way and I need to order a receiver.  Do I need the reinforcement plate or not?

I was going to get the receiver with the plate, however Nodak does not have them in stock right now.  They do have the standard NDS2SF receiver though.

Should I wait for the receivers with the plate before I buy, or is this not much of an issue?

The plate is primarily for looks. Wait for them to have the plate aor get what they have now.

Built kits with both, no problems. The reinforcement plate is to strengthen the receiver with stock folded on full auto fire.

The reinforcement plate is not necessary, as the NDS receivers are top notch quality with correct heat treatment. However, I'd recommend it for a 7.62 Krink for the extra strength.

If my memory serves me correctly, original Russian Krinks did not have the plate, while the Bulgy's did.

If you really want it to have the plate, then just wait for it. It always best to be happy with a purchase and not have buyer's remorse.

It's 5.45 Bulgy Krink kit.

I'm not concerned w/ looks, just concerned with function.  What purpose it actually serves and whether or not it is recommended.  It will be about a month wait for the receiver w/ the plate.  I am patient enough to wait, if necessary.  Otherwise, I'll go ahead and get the one w/out and get my Form 1 sent in...

However, since this is an investment I want it to be done right and not cut any corners!  I don't want to have problems on down the road b/c I didn't wait 1 month and pay an extra $15.

As previously mentioned, the plate is there to add reinforcement for the pistol grip when firing in full auto with the stock folded.

If you won't be firing it very often in full auto with the stock folded, the plate won't be required.

And considering the russians never made them with the plate, even after the Bulgarians started doing so, I doubt it's even necessary in that regard.  I could be wrong on that front, however.

If you just can't wait, ORF sells the plates separately, and they're not that difficult to install with a spot welder.  ~$12, IIRC, and no waiting.
