| I was not aware that Poland made a krinkov until I saw one in a book someone gave me. I cant find any info on the web about them but it looks like a Tantal that has been shortened. Anyone know what I am talking about? Does anyone have one or thought about building one. I might have to scan the picture and share it. |

According to the book "Military Small Arms of the 20th Century"...Copy of a Russian AKS-74U, the principal changes from the Russian design lie in a additon of a three round burst mechanism and the provision of a single strut side-folding butt. The rear sight has been enlarged, partly to give an increased range of 400 meters, and partialy to provide a base to which electro-optical or collimating sights can be fitted. The muzzle expansion chamber and compensator has also been slightly changed in order that it can function as a granade-launching spigot. There also is a wz/91 Onyx that is chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. I have never seen one for sale or even parts kits for sale. Don |

The Polish wz.89/91 Onyks and the wz.96 Mini-Beryl would have to be my all-time favorite Krinks. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn73/AKSU_album/Onyks_.jpg Too bad the kits aren't available. |

I take it that is the Beryl. The pic I have shows the bakelite style cut down handguards, and that unusual rear sight bar. They are pretty neat looking and something different. You could chop a tantal down with some creative engineering and some various parts end up with something close. Thanks for the pic and info, I couldn't find any on the web. |
