| can someone tell me if i've got a decent maadi. i bought it in '97-98, has the double-crown symbol left side of gas block, thumbhole stock, has RML, semi-automatic rifle, caliber 7.62x39, maadi company, made in egypt on left side of stamped receiver, pars intl. lou. ky on right side. end of barrell seems to have never been threaded. does not have misr stamped on it. thanks for any help. |

You should have a very nice Maadi. RML's were imported about the same time as ARM's just through a different company. The muzzle has probably had the threads removed. You should be able to see that where the front sight is mounted to the barrel has more meat than the remaining muzzle. I didn't bother trying to put a muzzle brake on mine and it is one of my more accurate ones. I would take the MISR post with a grain of salt. I own several Egyptian AK variants and the only ones that have MISR electro-penciled on them are Century imports. |
