Well, I got on the Saiga bandwagon and over the course of this month picked up both a 7.62 and 12 ga. I wanted to keep the sporter look of the 7.62 but didn't want to buy more mags for it since I have dozens of AK mags. I did convert it to use AK mags and it looks good and works well. I wanted to do the 12 differently. I took it out shooting and it is a ball to shoot. Very fast and accurate. I had a 22" bbl on mine which I have since cut to 18". I do have an adjustable external choke for it but I haven't installed it yet. Last night I finally got around to converting it to a pistol grip style. Other than trying to get over the anxiety of grinding and cutting parts off it, the conversion is pretty easy. The trigger parts just slipped in and worked fine. I didn't have any screws handy for the trigger guard so I just pop riveted it in place. Probably the hardest part was squaring off the hole for the pistol grip. I used a fixed telestock off an AR15 for the stock. I had bought an AK adapter for it since I don't use in on an AR anymore since the ban lifted. It looks pretty cool and I am looking forward to shooting both the 7.62 and shotgun this weekend. |

It is kind of like a polychoke, www.polychoke.com but is called a "C-leck Choke". I took it off an old bolt action shotgun I picked up at a police auction over 20 years ago. You just twist the thing to change the choke contrictions. Take a look a polychoke's adjustable choke/muzzle comp. Adjustable chokes kinda went out of style with the advent of internal choke tubes but they look cool on a combat shotgun. |
