I just converted my Saiga .308 to a PG configuration and when I tryed to install G2 FCG, the old disconnect spring won't fit. Has this happened to anyone else? I was jus wondering if there was a reason why the original disconnect spring was oversized. Any help/insight would be appreciated. I really want to finish this project and get to the range. Thanx. |

You need to change it to a regular AK disconnector spring. The Saiga 308 spring won't work (as you've found out). Check here for a replacement: AK Disconnector spring |

Thanx. I just found one left over from my SAR-1. New information..... As I have just found out, the old trigger had longer bars to engage the safety safely...follow? The new G2 trigger bars are a tad bit shorter. I thing I'll need to buy a new safety. Can the angle be changed on my original safety to be able to engage trigger bars for a greater distance?? Has anyone encountered this problem? The safety will engage but only for a small amount of distance from the "S". Very dangerous. I'm learning quite a bit from this little project.... |

I installed the default disconnector spring by drilling out the G2 disconnector and trigger. You then trim a bit off the spring and it works. I ran into the exact same problem with the saftey. Since my conversion isn't complete yet, I'm planning to have a weld built up on the right/bottom of the saftey where it engages the trigger. 1/8" lengthening of the saftey should do fine and being a weld it's permanent solution. |
