I have been eyeing one for a while myself. I think Alantic Arms is a good place to start. They take care of some of the common upgrades already. I think they are running about $1200. Good luck J I believe you will need the "tactical" model to get a bullet guide and modified mag catch to accept standard AK mags. The wood stock is the sporterized version and will be absent from those two components. May not be a big deal if you have a compenent AK gunsmith or feel comfortable doing the work yourself. I picked up the sportorized version in 5.45 and have to have those two mods done. *Kinda wish I purchased the tractical version for another $200. |

Just for clarification the 54R VEPR can not accept standard AK mags. The 54R round is far too large for a standard AK mag. Molot makes 5 round mags and SGM tactical makes 10 rounders that have mixed reviews from some. Any 54R VEPR can accept either one of these mags out of the box. I believe some of the VEPRS Atlantic is selling come with the 10 rounder |

Ah man, facepalm on that one. Thanks for straightening me out.
I've been so consumed with my VEPR in 5.45 that I just barfed out details that were completely bunk. Thanks for the correction! And apologies to the OP for my lame reply. MP Quoted:
