Nothing fancy, bought it in 03. Damn fine rifle, but I may be selling it shortly as I don't use it. http://i40.tinypic.com/ezil34.jpg I shoot mine frequently. It's one of the most pleasurable AKs that I shoot. The adjustable ACE stock has a great feel and height...and clears the action. With all of the mods it comes to 6 pounds loaded. True that it's front heavy but doesn't bother me for what I use it for, weights about the same as any of my Romy builds with wood furniture. ......as opposed as to what the internet haters (from my ignore list) may say. What caliber? Looking at the magazine it looks to be 5.45 |

I'm finally done and satisfied with this rifle. Long time coming. My .308 Vepr DMR: http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz359/Liquidmetalpics/VEPR/7b92fa8b.jpg Very nice. You are the inspiration for beginning the process to get one in 7.62x54R. I wish I could have snagged one of those pistol grips before they ran out at K-var. Thanks for the pics! |

Factory vepr 7.62x54r that I threaded for a suppressor. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z233/Rwsgunsmithing/vepr001.jpg That's awesome. Did you have any trouble threading the barrel? Did you have to remove the front sight to do it? What flash hider did you use? |

Quoted:
Did a little work on .308 number two. Added a MI scope mount, Warne rings, Mueller Tac II 3-10x44 scope, ITC cheekrest, and a Russian sling. QD rings on a QD mount is redundant, but I already had them from a previous rifle and they were the perfect height for this application. http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz359/Liquidmetalpics/VEPR/a9328fdc.jpg What flash hider is that? How is it attached? |

I currently have an Eotech mounted on the Molot, but am always looking for a lighter, lower combo. |

Weight savings is marginal, although I haven't weighed them side-by-side, I don't believe the MI mount is a whole lot lighter than the Molot. As I expected, the lower MI mount forced me to go with taller rings to clear the RSB versus the Molot mount. Didn't gain anything going with a lower mount, but I wanted to try a different mount just to keep it interesting. |

I'd like to put something similar on mine by threading the barrel but I don't see a way to add the plunger on that type of front sight base. Doesn't seem thick enough to drill the plunger hole. |

The Surefire flash hider is actually tightened up against the sight tower. |

It wasn't threading so much but getting it dialed in, not to mention tring to hold it in the chuck. |

Nice. Where'd you get the cheekrest for the ACE buttstock? I have one on my Saiga... that looks comfy! |

Quoted: My 54r carbine conversion. Forearm with full length heat shield of my own design that does not touch the barrel. Only contact point is swivel lug that fits into the heat shield recess. Short and very handy. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss72/ddoneill/IMG_0449-1.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss72/ddoneill/IMG_0446_1-1.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss72/ddoneill/IMG_0448-1.jpg Nice stick. |

Hey ddnc, Where in the world did you get that buttstock and hand grip? Man, if we could only buy them in the U.S.A. Good job on the forearm!
My apologizes ddnc, after closer look at ur photos, i see that it's a possible ZDF/Robarm import. The mod to the cheek weld and grip tape threw me off. I thought it was a current production gun and mod job. very nice rod |

Took care of something that has bugged me for a long time: a bipod mounted to a non-free floating handguard. Not a good thing for accuracy. I wish someone would develop a free-floating handguard for AKs, as of now no such thing exists. Bipod is now mounted to the receiver via a picatinny rail. Nothing touches the handguard and therefore no pressure is exerted on the barrel. http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz359/Liquidmetalpics/VEPR/88e3fdaf.jpg http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz359/Liquidmetalpics/VEPR/31449475.jpg I really like that hand guard. |
