Probably not from a reliability standpoint.  

They may make your magazine more stable.  

Dimples do make your receiver stronger in that area.  It's the same reason you see ribs in dust covers.

My WASR doesn't have dimples and it has never had any problems

dimples for authenticity. Doesn't really matter as long as the mag reinforcements don't allow too much mag wobble (usually seen on single stack cut to regular mag size holes)
