Hey All, I have a pair of Saigas and have some questions (1) First gun has the pistol grip modification, but does not have a feedramp. I have the option to either (A) add Danzig feedramp then modify existing 5.56 magazines or (B) use Surefire Saiga USA made 30 round mags. I do like that I get 3 USA 922r parts with the Surefire mags, but the cost per mag is a real drag. First question Is it better / more reliable to go with (B) the Surefire - Saiga 5.56 mags with their built in feedramp? or If it is better to go with (A) a High Cap conversion of existing 5.56 mags? Second Question If I go with the Magazine conversion (A), what is considered the BEST magazine for use on 5.56 saigas? (a) Grind Steel E. German 5.56 Wiegers (b) Modify Saiga for unground Steel E. German 5.56 Wiegers (c) Grind Bulgarian 5.56 Polys (d) Modify Saiga for unground Bulgarian 5.56 Polys (e) Grind Israeli 5.56 Orlite Galils (f) Grind & Fit Galil to M-16 mag adapter so I can use AR-15 magazines I have two unbuilt Galil magazine adapters, but I have heard that they do not function reliably - I'd like to hear the opinion of anyone who has / is running this set up. I hate the idea of having to grind the existing magazines I have to fit an individual gun, as I think it would be better to modify the gun to run on existing "stock" magazines, rather than grind the magazines to fit an individual gun. As I have two Saigas, I worry that I may have differences between the mags working between the two guns. I'd sure like to hear the experiences of those who know / have been there done that. Let me know! BIGGER_HAMMER ![]() |

You can probably find your answers here 223 section on forum.saiga-12.com Thread on using a Galil mag adaptor in a 223 Saiga |
