Who makes hicap mags? How much $ are they? Who has factory mags? How much are they? What kind of accuracy can I expect from a 16”? Anything else I should know? Thanks in advance. |

Get the 20 round mags from Gilbert's Guns or a few other places. I bought the 25 round ones and the 20 round ones that FBMG made and I like the Surefire mags better. They fit tighter than the FBMG mags, seem better built and unlike the last FBMG mag that they sent to me, the Surefires actually work in my rifle. Gilbert's guns also have the 8 round factory SAIGA .308 mag. When I ordered one from FBMG they sent me a Saiga 12 shotgun mag instead. I had to return that on my dime and in return they sent me 2 20 round FBMG mags instead of the 8 round I needed and the refund on shipping. One of the mags they sent me didn't even feed correctly. | Mississippi Auto Arms has the 25 round 308 Saiga Surefire mags. |
Mine has been shooting 1.5 - 2" 3 shot groups at 100 yards. I have been using 150 grain FMJ commerical reloads and a cheap Tasco 4x scope. I think it will do better once I work up a load & use a better scope. |
Thanks for the info. I am trying to decide if I will still want a bolt gun if I buy the Saiga. I want to be able to Deer Hunt (not that I ever will) with whatever I get. Thanks. |
I would call mine a 250 - 300 yard deer rifle, but would probably try not to take a shot of 200 and don't think I would take one over 250. From what I've seen at the range, I don't think most shooters could hit consistently at 250, so it's probably at least as good as they are! |
