No thats an over barrel suppressor. Tax free, licence free completely unrestricted.

ETA the rifle itself requires an a cat licence. 126.00 and you undergo a hunter training programme, which is designed to test your common sense and school you on firearm law. Also you get vetted to make sure your not a nut job or criminal. Then you can buy as many as you want.

We can also semi-auto ak47's like you can get over there and any other weapon almost.

For the price of over 2k they can keep it.
Supressor won't help AK very much anyway.

Wonder if they forgot to take off the rear sight? what the point of having it with out the front sight.

Guncity is way over priced. But it does give a good indication of the types of firearms we can buy. We can get sig 550's Ar-15's Ak-47's and any other rifle you can make a believeable reason up for needing to have. Firearms here in New Zealand are a lot more expensive though. 10 grand plus for a colt sp1, pre imported, We can import firearms as individuals fairly cheap, cheaper than the stores will sell them to us anyway but once they land the prices are crazy. 5-800 simply for an sks.

The main reason for this is that the police here who also deal with our firearms laws have made a policy in which to import or manufacture a military style semi-automatic rifle or shotgun , Basicly the rifles you could not buy (new) during your AWB, you have to hand over one first to be destoryed or convert it so it is of "sporting" configuration.

Would you believe it's cheaper to get a pistol (and easy to import one) than a rifle, most people who can buy pistols are limited to 6 or 12 (I can't remember the exact number but it's between those two  numbers) Yet you can buy as many rifles and shotguns your wallet will allow.

I reccently purchased a Saiga with choate stock and muzzle break and has been converted to take normal ak mags for what is a pretty good deal here, I paid $1,050.00 NZD which is $797.00USD, Most pay upwards to 2 grand. When it arrives I'll post photos.

Well the action on the AK is loud by itself, plus you still need sub sonic ammo to use with the supressor. Yes it will take the noise level down, but its not going to be anywhere near quiet. Also, I guess it dipends on the type of sub-sonic ammo you will be using, but some sub-sonic ammo might not fully cycle AK action (due to the lack of energy, and gases).
