| Where would I be able to find a new side mount scope rail for a Romanian PSL / Romak 3? I have one that I got from Military Gun supply about a year ago. Didn't have anywhere to shoot it until a couple weeks ago. Well, it apparently has a failure to feed problem, and it's the same with all 4 mags that came with it so I think the bolt must be snagging something. It'll feed a couple rounds, then catch and I have to smack the handle pretty good to get it to feed the next round. Anyway, to the point of the post. The scope rail was also a Peice of ____ because apparently the front of it was worn very thin and I mean paper thin and after firing the rifle only 6 times the scope just broke loose and fell off onto the bench, no damage to the scope but apparently the recoil caused the front peice of the scope rail to break off and now I can't mount the scope. I think the thing may even be spot welded. I have a dremel tool and I can get the rail off but how hard would it be to locate another one and replace it? What tools would be needed? |

First the rail thing. Here's one like the origonal, or what should have been on there. www.centerfiresystems.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=73 Yes it is spot welded but I too think they should be easy to get loose. The main thing I'm worried about is how is the center support rivet attached? The jamming might be the ammo, I used that brass washed steel cased stuff before and the rim of the feeding case dug into the next round in the mag and stopped everything. The laquar coated stuff works great. |

What type of jam exactly? My ROMAK was jamming, trying to feed two rounds at once, and stovepiping as well. Plus, I had a 'bolt hold open' going. heh. Turned out, I had to grind a bit on the hammer, it was snagging the bolt. I still have some FtE, but I am hoping it's a mag problem. As far as the rail goes, well. I dunno. I thought mine was riveted on, but maybe not. I'll let the Builders chime in on that bit. |
