Anything about this model I need to know?

I think it would be a good buy, looks like they used an origonal Romy folder. Not to many Romy underfolder kits were sold as parts kits, don't think there were a lot that came in over all.   It most likely will become an investment down the road.

imho, for the price- i would get a yugo underfolder instead of the wsar. heck, another hundred and you can pickup a polish UF. i would be reluctant to spend 500 on a wsar of any type. they just don't have the value. i love my wsar, but its a 300 dollar gun- not a 500 dollar gun, uf or not. i would also consider picking up a sar 1 ahead of a wsar if you're going to put down the money.

have you shot a UF before?

ETA- cia started importing UF wsars a few months back. they're not rare or built from kits. so the chances of them growing in value is small.

+10

$495 for a WASR (I don't care if even for the fact that it's an underfolder) is WAY too much.  Look around, either get a Yugo like Cigolon mentioned or look at some other stuff.  For $495 I bet you could find a romy underfolder out there somewhere.

Thanks for the input guys.  I really want to jump over the the darker side.  I just don't know what to look for
I always thought the under folders were nice looking but have never shot one.
BTW what's the deal with the WASR? Does no one care for them?

From what Ive read they dont have as nice a fit and finish as the more expensive ones and they occasionaly have some cant on the gas tube and/or front sight base. Of course for $300 Im not expecting a great finish, just a decent shooter.

They sound like a good thing for a beater rifle/plinker which is what I am looking for.

This should answer your questions hopefully.
