| I purchased a brand new WASR 10 several months ago, and i got the intentions to put a new gas block with a bayo lug on it. i recently purchase a new (never used) gas block off a person at gunbroker.com. Finally got it in and slapped it on and pinned it, and made sure it was straight as an arrow and the FSB too. Then this was when i noticed it, the gas block itself is somewhat warped. it is slightly warped about a degree or 2 to the left at the top. the gas piston seats in there just fine, no probs. and and shoots fine like that. and i was wondering if this would cause any future probs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

If you can assemble the gas tube to the gas block without forcing it, and if you don't feel any binding when you cycle the action, then it should be fine. The design of the rifle allows for a certain amount of misalignment. On most AK's the gas piston is pinned to the bolt carrier in a manner that allows it to wiggle. This helps with the self alignment. Unfortunately Century has a bad habit of welding the gas piston in place instead of pinning it. Most of the time this does not cause any problems. |
