Hey GUTS, Is it me or is that sight mounted way too high? Can you get any cheek weld and still see through that thing? You should try a "low pro" side rail mount from kalinka optics. It will put your sight right on top of the receiver for a good cheek weld and more natural shooting positon for your neck.

Fun with WASR. Figured it was cheap enough that I don't mind tinkering with it. Rear sight base, gas block and front sight were all canted, and not in teh same direction  All pins removed, part turned to the vertical, drilled and repinned. Threads had been turned off to a naked barrel, too small for standard AK thread. Threaded to 1/2x28, bored out a YHM phantom 5.56 to 7.62 for a FH. Just had a local outfit park the whole gun. Of course, now that it has a finish on it, I want to cut it up for a solid side folder... Might wait a while for that. Purists be damned!

Here are my SAR3's I refinshed both with Norrel's Molyresin. I put Polish furniture on one, and I went all black on the other. I threaded them with the kit off the EE. The pic of the one with the Polish furniture was taken before the barrel was threaded. It now has a copy of a AK74 brake made for the AR's.

There is no slack in Light Attack.
 Sorry bout the AR haha. This is my WASR. I know a lot of people don't like them, but I guess I got a good one. It's got a couple thousand rounds through it with no jams, not even with soft point ammo. It's my primary "brush gun" for whitetails, and has a couple kills. Also pictured is my 870 Super mag, and my Colt Trooper .357 that now has 175 rounds through it. Bought new in 1976 by my grandpa, he never shot it. |

I just now found the Romanian picture thread  My refinished 03 SAR-1. This was my first attempt at refinishing a gun myself.

Thanks for the compliment, your rifle looks sweet too! I actually refinished the receiver with Krylon Appliance epoxy paint. The stuff is alot more durable than I thought it would be. Romy G screw build. Only 1 malfunction in 90 rounds and that was during the first 20. NDS-3 receiver, Tapco TG, US PG, US brake. Finished the receiver and cover with Brownells spray & bake Gun Kote. Left the wood and barrel assembly orig.   |

Just got done staining the wood with minwax red mahogany. 1 coat 15mins wipe off, sit 4 hours #2 coat wipe off in 5 mins. Turtle wax and done. I was going to clear it but it looks so good I just stopped here. SAR-1 2001. http://www.gunsnet.net/album/data//500/medium/ak_07_drum.jpg |

It has. It served valiantly at the Battle of Inadequate Maintenance, and received two medals of honor during the Seige of Leftentrunk. |

A brace of Ak's. Flat Dark Earth one just finished tonight, haven't fired yet, got a couple hundred rounds through the Romy wood one. Haven't got the Durocoat on either receiver yet. Too anxious to send some lead downrange! Paint can wait. Freezing the barrel helped a lot on the re-insertion!
