| I see some cool bipods that are current russion dragonov issue on the internet. Im not sure if they will fit on to my Romak 3. Does anyone have suggestions for a good bipod and how to mount it to this type of rifle? |
I hate to even go here but, WM sells a reasonably priced Harris Knockoff for around $40.00 You will need to buy an Uncle Mikes QD stud and nut. WM sells them also. Do not buy the one that threads directly into the wood stock. Buy the one that is a machine screw type with nut. You will need to fabricate a reinforcing plate, simple band strap with holes already in it (check AutoZone in the muffler hangar section) Or make your own. Some Dremel work will be required. and pick up a Acraglas kit or some JB weld to make sure the reinforcing plate stays in place. If you want detailed instructions, PM me, I can give you a call and walk you through it. Good luck. Edit: I so totally love my PSL. Hope you enjoy yours! |
That would be a tough one with out any mod. to the reciever itself. It would be do able if you drilled a small hole at the bottom of the reciever infront of the magwell as close as you could to the lower HG and mount a QD stud and put a Harris type on that . But if it were mine I wouldnt drill a extra hole in it. Also you could mod your lower HG and recess a steel tab into the rear of it and have the tab extend back and overlap for lack of better word at the moment the reciever and mount the QD stud on the tab . No mod to the reciever and min. mod the the LHG ,that would look most like a SVD . I wish I could put up pics from my PC I would draw it up and post it. |
| what i was pondering was that there is a gap between the reciever and the upper handguard. Im going to have a machinist friend look into making something that will fit snugly in that crevasse and go aroound the reciever and come together at the bottom. there it would be closed and attached to a short rail. and on that rail would be the bipod. ill post pics if i get this off the drawing board |
