It was mentioned somewhere on this board I think that  there was a  14mmX 1LH die that could be rented to thread the barrel for a slant break.
Did I misread this?
If this is true who can I contact to attain this device for a short period, long enough to thread one barrel.
Thanks,
Kelly

Here's my SAR-1 muzzle after using WJM's kit.

Just follow the supplied instructions and you should have no problem.

Got the barrel threaded and the brake installed in less than a half an hour.  The tools worked well and the instructions are right on the money.
An inexpensive and easy way to thread a barrel with wjm's service.
Thanks,
Kelly

Just the topic I was going to ask about. I seem to remember reading instructions online somewhere. Did threading involve removing the front sight post? I'm looking into getting a SAR1 and this probably the first project I wanted to do. Also, where did you guys get your breaks from?

It's not necessary to remove the front sight, but you will have to remove the front pin, if you want to install the brake plunger assembly.

I used an #A-559 brake on my SAR-1. Works great!

coyote3, thanks for your reply. What's a break plunger assembly and why do I need it? I have read the "muzzle break FAQ" sticked on this board, but I don't see mention of it anywhere.

I'm another satisfied customer of WJM.  Use plenty of cutting oil and have your slant brake ready. i.e - get it before threading.

Piece of cake

The plunger pin locks into the detent on the brake, to lock it in place.

The pin is located above the muzzle in the picture I posted earlier in this thread. The spring is located in a recess behind the pin and they are held in place by the front sight pin.
