I have a GP-WASR 10/63 and I recently cut the weld on my barrel nut and took it off to discover it has M14x1 LH threads. I am considering doing a form-1 suppressor build for my WASR and i wonder what are the chances the threads are concentric to the bore? Is this something a gunsmith should check, or is there any way I could check it myself?

With a set of calipers, you could measure the thickness between a bore edge and the edge of the threads at 12,3,6,9 o'clock. At each of those points, measure the thickness from a land to the top of the thread. Repeat at each point.
I would only use this to see if it is definitely NOT concentric. If one of the points is thicker than another then you know its not concentric and not worth any further examination. Im not sure how you could guarantee its concentric without a lathe. |
