It was built in Romania on a Monday @ 06:30:56 in 1985 by a guy named Ferd.  He was more than a little hung-over!

This.

It would be difficult to know much more.  Also, many WASR's were assembled utilizing the stored parts from earlier manufacturing days.

And with a babushka, gray facial hairs and what looks to be bolweevils peeking out of each nostrel. But ask the many 3rd world countries running Romy AKs if they have any complaints over the studda-bubba's work.

referring to basically every 3rd world country using Romanian AK's, I have wondered about this for a very long time.  They are the same basic crude thin stamped model that I have and they are firing fully automatic or at least bursts regularly.  How many rounds are people putting through their WASR to have a complaint that it's not tough enough for them?  I have a few thousand rounds through mine and not a hiccup or an issue in any way whatsoever.  I paid $299 for my little old Century WASR with 2 30rd magazines 6 years ago.  Is it that someone hears that they are junk and then repeats it?  Or are the Romanian 1mm receiver AK's truly junk?  I for 1 believe they rock.  That being said I have 1 of each and prefer all of them!

Unless you but some high speed AK, which will be way over priced and not shoot much better than mine, an AK is an AK in an AK....... The ballistics on the x39 round is terrible anyways, in comparison to the .223. It was built to be a machine gun, AR, not so much. Even if you x39 in a AR platform, you still haven't changed the round characteristics. This why I had no problem buying my unused 10/63, I knew what I was buying. Sights are straight, everything is in place. I even started to do some work on it. Safety selector bolt hold open was the first! I must say the Tapco trigger that came with it is pretty nice, compared to the triggers on any of the AR triggers we shoot. Two stage, crunchy, and enough creep to pi$$ of a preacher. I like a trigger that is single stage, no more than 2.5 pounds and crisp. Tapco is almost there, but far ahead of the stock AR. I like AR's, have built a few in the past, the latest one to me is the $hit, except no FA!
