well as expected the PSL fired much better and predictably. take up was light and easy and the trigger broke as soon as you think about it.
fired 60 rounds or 3 packs of russian surplus light ball ammo. i fired the gun a few times to blow the oil out and get some residue down the bore and grooves. temps were about 65 and mild humidity. shot groups were nice and tight firing 5 round strings. that is to say that the first 3 shots were very good and the last 2 were erratic at best. going from a 3 shot 1moa gun to a 3+ inch shooter. so the rifle is not immune to heat issues. it never has been terrific after 5 shots in under 3 minute shooting. but when cool the rifle is a dynamo. the trigger has really upped my confidence when preparing to fire and knowing how the rifle will behave once i commit to the shot. so now in my quest to tighten things up i will be exploring flash hiders for the front end and playing with ammo choices, though unless i am willing to shoot $1 per pop type ammo i dont think romy or bulgy surplus will be much more effective then the russian stuff i have. so in conclusion the trigger is fantastic and i recommend it highly. but heat and/or ammo is really the achilles heel for ultra tight shooting. |
