As I surveyed my collection the other day, I realized that I didn't own an AK. Silly me! So I got a Romanian with the underfold stock. Haven't shot it yet but I was just wondering what I need to know before I get started. Anybody have any advise? Do this. Don't do that! Get you one of these... Is there any thing specific that I need to know concerning AKs and zombies or do the same rules apply as with everything else? One guy already told me not to run around with it hollaring, "Allah Akbar!" Thanks in advance!

Well the first thing you need to do if you want a rule is take a pic and post it....

Congrats on your purchase. As said before, when you get a chance, post a picture or two for everyone to see.

As far as what to do, just give it a good cleaning before you go shoot it.......the shoot the hell out of it .

There is some ammunition on the market that your need to keep an eye out for. It is Yugoslavian surplus in 7.63x39 that is great ammunition, but it is corrosive. If you happen to use this ammo, make sure you break it down and clean it thoroughly.

To learn more about your Romanian AK, go to the link below. Depending on what importer put your AK on the market, it may have some problems such as canted sights or canted gas block. The site referenced will tell you how to correct those problems plus give you a good education about your AK.

I have two Romanians and they are both great rifles.

When you rack your bolt you have to let it fall forward on its own. WASR's have a tendency to "stick", which is just the bolt carrier hanging on the hammer, but it doesn't happen when shooting just when the bolt carrier is moving real slow.
