just picked up a 10/63 and took it out to sight it in at 50 yds. My groups were about 8" left. After i got the sight adj  i got my rounds centered. The next day i took it out and all rounds were hitting about 7" high. The only thing i can think of is i used different ammo.Is it possible that the surplus steel case ammo is that so different to cause the change in poa? The first day i used ammo from china and the next day i used russian ammo.

As long as you checked everything over and found it to be tight and nothing out of the ordinary I'd say the only variable would be the ammo. Try it again with some more Russian and see.

What he said.  Use the same ammo.  That Ruski stuff is fine but it can vary wildly from manufacturer or even lot to lot.  And it's all different from American made stuff.
