Can anyone shed any light on these AK's?  Are they a good value @ $500?  Do they have a chrome lined barrel?  I'm looking for any information you might have as I am seriously considering one.

I purchased an I.O. STG 2000 back in 2007, when they could be had for $379. When it arrived the barrel was pressed in canted. It was sent back and the replacement had a canted front sight. The finish was rough, more sharp edges than a roll of razor wire, and a trigger that slapped like the hand of an angry pimp. For $379, I could live with it, for $500 I'd buy a used MAK90.

Here is my I.O. INC. ak. I changed a couple of things to make mine the way I like it. Darke Earth with UTG rail. This rifle has been pretty good. I had some feeding problems when I first got it. It was a magazine problem I figured it out and has been doing just fine. I bought mine for $470.00 a year ago. It a good rifle.

I wouldn't pay $500 for one- a while back I got an AK-47c for $450, the trunnion/sight base was canted pretty severely. I never fired it and sent it in to IO about 6weeks ago and am supposed to have it back this week. Not thrilled with my purchase so far, but will see when I get it back. The fit & finish on the IO is noticeably better then my WASR- but that is straight as an arrow! Century let at least one good one get out.

I went through three of these. The first one I fired about 400 rounds, and the rivets started to give causing misfeeds and dust cover to come loose while firing, I sent it back and they reworked it, then I had the same issue. Then they sent me a new one with some bogus shepards hook clip, I called them and finally they let me speak to someone who identified himself as a VP. They sent me new clips and I installed it and sold the rifle. I wouldn't buy one again. I'd sooner go to my local guy and hand pick a WASR (which I did).

I got it back yesterday after 8wks- everything appears to be strait now. Again, I think it's a very slight upgrade over the WASR IF you prefer the plastic furniture (mine has a clubfoot stock I like  & Galil style handguard I don't). If I could do it over I'd go a different route though.
