Has anyone slugged the bore of their PSL to get the actual bore diameter?  Also, when loading cartridges for the PSL...7.62X54R, which diameter bullet do you feel (know) gives the best accuracy?...the .308...or....the .311?

I don't want the loads you use, just the bullet diameter....Thanks!

.311 Is The Tightest..
It Hugs The Bore And Sticks To The Lands And Grooves..Causing Tighter Groups On Paper..

According to spec, the PSL bore diameter is .311.

Knowing that there can be variances, I slugged mine and it came out right at .311, but my friend's rifle slugged at .3103 (still within spec). The slightly tighter bore on his seems to have caused some accuracy issues, as mine holds very nice 5 shot groups, while his tends to wander a bit more. I would have thought the opposite, but it has not proven to be the case.

Some people claim phenominal accuracy using .308 bullets, but I just don't see how this can be. Shooting an undersized bullet is going to be inaccurate and cause wear problems on the bore. I have not tried any .308 bullets in mine, preferring to leave well enough alone as I have a good one and would like to keep it that way.

I reload using the .311 150gr Sierra Game Kings.   They are very accurate in my rifle.     I pulled a couple  surplus  rounds once and found that it was .308.    It could have been a fluke, or a miss read on my caliper...not sure.    I don't remember what manufacture it was.

I mic'd several different surplus light ball bullets (Czech, Bulgarian, Slovak) and found they were all .308

If you mic around where the case neck  meets the bullet on those rounds they are .311 not .308...

I use Hornady .312" 150 grain SP. Works very well for me with groups at 1.5 inch on the 100 yard range. Tried pulled 147 grain milsurp btsp .311" with ok but not great results. 2.5  to 3". I am going to try some 124 grain .310" Hornadys as soon as the weather gets back to temps somewhere near 35 deg.
