| Hello I have a wasr10 ak and was wondering does anyone have a weld spot at the end where the cleaning rod goes under the barrel I have to pull the end of the rod to slide it in thanks. |
| Hmmm... not entirely sure what you mean. I do know that on the front sight base on WASR / Rommys you have to pull the cleaning rod out slightly to get the button on the end to slide fully into the locked position. Do you have a welded on muzzle brake or nut? I'm thinking what you are seeing is normal and not a weld spot. |

You have to flex the rod a little to get it in and out of the lug on the FSB.
That's normal. If what you are saying is that you have a big gob of sloppy weld in that area and it is keeping you from removing or inserting the rod then no, that's not normal. Grind it down and refinish. |

Yeah, that's what I was getting to with the pics I posted. If you can get the cleaning rod in by flexing it (which is normal) I would not worry about it. Otherwise grind and refinish. |

Your photos are a good illustration of the normal situation.
I want the OP to understand that the rod kind of springs in and out of that lug. Both of my AKs are threaded normally. I've never seen one with a welded nut or other muzzle device. The OP could do us a big favor with a picture of his problem. If we haven't already answered his question. |
