After reading the muzzle brake faq a few times I still have a question.  My barrel is ..50 approx (threads look removed), so I assume that I can thread 1/2x28.  But, where do I find a 7.62mm brake to fit those threads?  The link in the faq for a that thread is for .223 caliber.
Also, from the site post to the end of the barrel is .85, and my minimal experience with a ak74 brake threaded 14x1 didn't even get close to the site post before it hit some stop inside the brake.
So, I guess I need a brake that is 1/2x28, 30cal, and will thread clear to the post.
I can't seem to figure out these issues from the faq.

here is what I am looking at, thanks in advance for any assistance!

so did you thread the barrel 1/2x28 then put the slant brake on?  The AK-74 brake mentioned from dinzag in your link for 1/2x28 is not threaded deep like the others.  It doesn't look to be like the slant brake is very deep either.  did it leave a gap or anything?

If you want to use a 1/2-28 RH .223 muzzle break, you need to ream the bore of the break to .338 to .348, from the info I've gleaned from the net. I like the larger selection of breaks in the 1/2-28 RH, so I had a friend at a machine shop make me an adaptor from 14 x 1 LH to 1/2-28 RH, so I can use the .223 breaks *IF* I choose to. I just like having options. YMMV.
