Has anyone ever tried to track down the bayonet that goes with their WASR-10 rilfe? I had my bayonet out last night and the serial number doesn't match my receiver. Were they even issued with a matching bayonet? Thanks!

Quoted:
The WASR rifles are made in 2000-present for the US market. The bayonets that come with them were made in the 1960's-1970's or even a bit later for the Romanian military. The new WASR I picked up yesterday at a shop is dated 1973 with arsenal marks and all matching numbers on the parts that count. All new, unused military suplus, except for the new reciever put on. Only my stocks were used, heavily sanded and quickly tossed on. |

Exactly. Although I should've been more clear on that. They were built recently but the parts used on them will greatly vary on exactly what era they're from. I've seen some great, as-new Romanians and some pretty rough ones. I've even seen an SAR-1 with a Russian late-model cast gas block. It'll really depend on what they had on-hand and were using when they built them. |
