| Has anyone had any problems with their PSLs using corrosive ammo? Any advice or heads up on cleaning would be appreciated. Also, How did the Soviets/Russians keep their weapons from rusting in Afghanistan/Chechnya since they used corrosive ammo? |

Corrosive ammo is no problem...You have two choices use a little amonia based cleaner (windex is great). Or buy some hoppes 7.62 solvent. They both neutralize the effects of the corrosive ammo. On a chrome lined barrel its not as big a deal, but will still need cleaned. Just use your ammonia or cleaner with ammonia and spray it down the barrel good. Then clean as usual. If you use the 7.62 solvent you kill two birds with one stone. I'm pretty sure its hoppes that makes it. Citizen to answer your question about the barrel rusting ...They chromed them, that helps a lot. Look down any mosin bore (except the finnish) and you will normally see a dark bore. thats the effect of corrosive ammo. And of course Mosin bores are not chrome. Upside to corrosive ammo it lasts a long long long time in storage. |
Is the Sweets 7.62 solvent what your thinking of? I get it now! Corrosive Ammo...I don't get it |
