Help ~

I have been offered a package deal on a Norinco MAK-90 Sporter.
I have never owned an AK type and know just a little about them.

MAK-90 Sporter, Stamped receiver, fired very little, clean.
Wooden thumbhole stock, No muzzle device or bayonet lug.
4 new in the wrap 30 round "made in China" magazines.
A small quantity of Norinco ammo is also included.

I need to know if the MAC-90 is a good, reliable weapon and what the complete pkg. is worth.

Thanks ~

The stamped version of the Norinco MAK-90 is the way to go if you want to eventually lose the thumb hole stock.  The milled versions are very nice but cannot be modified due to lack of furniture available for them.

The Chinese manufactured version is a good mechanically working rifle.  If you can get this rifle for around $300-$400 that is an OK price.  I remember back in early 90's when these things were selling like hot cakes at $150-$200 a piece.  The good old days.  Kind of like the real estste market haha

A lot of people have the stamped version and they are very reliable rifles.

Later!

They're great guns for the $.  About 1/4 of them will suffer from front canted sight block syndrome.  Trigger is a dream: wide, smooth, no trigger slap.  Doesn't have a floating firing pin (I think)

Thank you both - I went ahead and picked it up this morning.

This is what I did with my MAK90. Some people don't like these stocks, but it works for me.

To all his own.  The green stock doesn't look too bad.  I like the grips you put up front over the ugly ones that look like swiss cheese with all the holes.  Anyways, I am sure you are happy with the new toy.  NOW GO SHOOT IT!!  haha

It was included in a 3-gun deal so I can't say what the exact price
was but I did get all 3 plus ammo and mags for a smoking deal

i love my mak-90,  i bought it about a year ago for $300 out the door, it came with the thumbhole stock which i soon replaced, which would have been alot easier if it would have had a stamped reciever, it took a while but I found one and i love it! I have never had any issues out of it at all, I love the 154gr wolf sp's the are pretty accurate even more so that the 122gr hp's. i plan to have another mak-90 but I would like one in .223. mak-90 with stamped reciever is the way to go!

Where can you find a brake/muzzle nut that will fit those threads?

I have one and just want to protect the threads mostly, although a brake that matches the finish would be nice.
