Not hard at all to change the stock, the only 2 issues you will need to worry about is the 922r parts count and if the receiver is a straight cut or slant cut.

You can use any wood/polymer stock if its a straight cut (stamped) receiver.  But if you have a angle cut (stamped) then you are limited to 2 choices

Wood : Ironwood Designs

Polymer : MSG, no website, ph # 714-879-4747, $39.95 for the buttstock.

If it happens to be a milled receiver, then you pretty much have to go with Ironwood Designs.

Ditto what 0100010 said.
All you need is a screwdriver to remove the two woods screws on the top of the stock and the pistol grip screw.  Then you will only need a piece of sandpaper and about 20 minuites to fit a stock on a MAK-90.
Click the "How to change handguards on AK rifles" link at the bottom of the opening page of my web pages for info/pics on to do it.

In the pic below the stocks are left to right a NHM-90 stock,East German pistol grip, and a MAK-90 stock. As you can see the MAK-90 is the shortest so the pistol grip screw is too short to use with a regular pistol grip like the EG one. So you will need to get a new longer pistol grip screw but the nut can be reused as it is the standard size on all AK rifles.

Is the one you have pictured that solid heavy piece of plastic I see at gunshows here in SoCal?  If it is, how much heavier is it compared to the factory thumbhole stock?
