| I've got a Norinco MAK 90 and it has a welded muzzle brake installed. It has no holes in it, just a metal tube welded to the front sight base to prevent use of any device. Well with the AWB gone now, I want to install a bayonet, after I install US made parts of course. Anyways, anyone else have a Mak 90 with this welded device in place, plus is it threaded undreneath or not. Also I want a new front sight base for my mak 90. Will any of them work or does it have to be a Chinese model and where can I buy them...thanks Billy |

The barrel is threaded and you will have to cut the welds to unscrew the muzzle nut. A Dremel tool with a #409 cut off wheel is just the ticket to do it. Make sure to cut the weld on the muzzle nut side so as not to mess up the front sight. The spring loaded muzzle brake retaining pin will be intact in the front sight. So a little file work on the welds on the front sight and some cold blue you will not need a new front sight. www.globaltrades.com/ Has the correct size gas block. You will have to remove the pins in the front sight and gas block then press them off. Press the new gas block on followed by the front sight and then re-pin them. |
