Most 7.62x39 AK mags should work. Is it a stamped or milled receiver?

Yes, any AK mags will work in the NHM. If you convert it from the thumbhole stock to a standard stock you will ahve to comply with 922. Norincos have a little bit thicker receiver so in order to get another countrys stock to fit you may have to trim or sand a little in a few areas. An Ironwood set will give you US parts counts though and are outstanding stocks.

Some nhm-91's came with a rivet beneath the mag release lever that prevented insertion of standard ak mags. Supposedly you can grind it off with a dremel in a few minutes though.

Here is a post that explains that rivet

(not stamped reciever, the normal riveted tyoe, 90's era)
