While not all-encompassing, here's the myriad of bayonets the Chinese created for the Kalashnikov and Kalashnikov-related rifles.  Excluded is the spike bayonet varieties:

Chinese M1947 or “First Model” (commercial type originally included with the Polytech Legend series rifles)

Chinese Red/Orange Type II (short)

Chinese Red/Orange Type II with Brass Pin (short)

Chinese Black Type II (short)

Chinese Green Type II (short)

Chinese Red/Orange Type II (standard) or “NDM-86 Bayonet”

Chinese Type 81 (brown) - black and the orange variants to follow but essentially the same*

May the Type81 bayonet be used tacked onto a Type56 automatic rifle and vice=versa; a Type56 bayonet of the second pattern or an NDM86 bayonet onto a Type 81?

Nice collection above.

Off the top of my head, I honestly couldn't accurately tell you without checking.  But they look to be possible to interchange just by the aesthetics.

Ago-Fidelis, thanks for the kind words.

Rayman,
As far as the 'First Model' bayonets go, how rare are the models with blond wood inserts? I assume those were mainly made for the commercial market to go with the blond Poly's. I've only seem them in NIB sets of Poly-Tech's with blond furniture but never for sale ala carte. I am going to be hunting for one to match the blond Legend under-folder I bought recently, I didn't even think of that task until now.

They're out there.  Keep in mind, those Polytech Legend "M1947" ("First Model") bayonets were assembled from the old machinery and tooling from when they were manufacturing the original Chinese military M1947 bayonets.  The true, original military ones are extremely rare.  They even made some with bakelite "scales" or side panels on the grip.  And believe it or not, there's some minor variations between the Chinese M1947 bayonets, but that's a separate post on those bayonets.

The Polytech Legend ones were certainly made specifically for commercial sale and included with the Polytech Legend rifles.  The scales on the grips were usually cut from the same wood set as the handguards/pistol grip/buttstock of the rifles they were included with.  Most were the maroon/red but several were also blonde.  But they did make a bunch of bayonets for separate sales.  The ones with the blonde scales are definately a lot rarer to find separately.  Most of the time it seems when one is found, it was likely an accessory with one of the blonde wood furniture Polytech Legends and it eventually wound up separated.

Keep looking around - you'll eventually find one out there.  But if you're desperate for one quickly, you can get a Polytech Legend one which can be found fairly easily.  Remove the scales from the grip and strip the wood down.  Then, re-stain them to the blonde you need.  A few folks have done it.  I believe there's a couple of the bayonets on Gunbroker now as well as someone selling the scales themselves separately.

Here's a quick photo showing the variety of scales on the bayonets.  It's an old photo and i neglected to put a few of the very blonde ones in the group.

I appreciate the kind words but it's just accumulated knowledge gathered here and there over the course of years.  And a lot of research, as well.  I think it's important to pass it on so that others will know and it not disappear.  We actually know so very little about the Chinese Kalashnikov and Kalashnikov accessories production, so it's good to relay as much information collected as possible.

I have a blond legend bayonet and am looking for a 'red' one to go with the wood on my legend. My legend came without a bayonet. I ahve been searching for 2 years and can not find one.
