Hi All, So tell me....how dissapointed should I be? Last thursday I recieved my replacement SSR-85C2 from Armory USA. I waited patiently for a month and a half to get this unit back. I was ecstatic when it arrived, but as thermocafe put it, the needle scratched off the record when I saw that the right front site shroud was bent in. Here is a picture: 206.130.117.4\new_SSR_BENT_FRONT_Site.JPG ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!? Not only that but if you look at the windage adjustment in that picture, that is how far to the right I had to adjust it to get it to hit a 8" circle at 50 yds. FOR GOD'S SAKE! SO I share this with you guys, very displeased. Thanks for reading. PS - It appears that Armory USA is putting a new Muzzle brake on these units. here is a picture: 206.130.117.4\new_SSR_MZL_BRK.JPG I am tired of this. -Pete |
I'd feel exactly the same way. Looks like two options: send it back and go for strike 3, or very carefully bend the sight ear back, drive out the pins and straighten the FSB so your FS is centered. If it breaks you can always knock it off and replace with a new one (I assume it takes a standard AKM FSB). If it were me having to wait 1 1/2 months and probably pay for shipping I'd definitely fix it myself. |

Ok, I have an update. I called Armory USA and talked to JR? and he was CHAGRINED that this second unit has issues. He apologized sincerely, and I think someone in QC is going to get their ass chewed. They are sending a pickup ticket for the bad one and sending me out a new one today. Let's hope Third time is a charm. -Pete |
| Good luck with that i went through the same thing as you just did with them.. I TALKED TO T.R GRAM, PERSONALY the head guy at QC.He said yep he will look at my rifle BEFORE IT SHIPS. Well i get it back, and the saftey when i pulled it down to SAFE it would go over the latch that holds it down, and hang from my reciver, also gas block would not go in right I had to fight with to to get it off and on.I just sent it back to my dealer who gave me a refund.Sorry i would trade it or sell it and take a loss before i would deal with them.GOOD luck. |
Interesting. That is eggzactly what T.R. said to me sw well; that he would personally inspect this rifle before it goes out. I hope the one I recieve is better than the one I am sending back! This is their last chance to get it right. |
You have the problem with the soft primer strikes? right? That sucks. you should MAKE them take care of you. This next rifle is the last chance. |
That is correct and I did call them and they said they will call me back which they never did. The rifle is being fix by a gunsmith which will cost me and I will never promote their rifle on this board.

Yeah I hear that Bud. They are scabbed together from parts, so it's easy for thing like this to happen. My threshold for pain is higher going into this as well, considering that I paid HALF of what my AR cost. I just hate to see QC mistakes happen over and over again from a U.S. based company. -Pete |
