Hi All, Took my first foray into the dark side today. I picked up an Arsenal SLR-105R (stamped) for $425. Its a ban model so no flash hider but that can be done (I hope) So tell me, did I do OK for a first timer? Thanks! |

Absolutely! BTW...being an AR guy..who would you recommend to change out the FSB...or it it easier to do on an AK than on an AR? Thanks for the help! |

To change out the front sight assembly, you'll really need a press to do it right, they are really on there, much more difficult than an AR front sight. No, it's not. The current drought on Russian ammo is being blamed on a number of things, such as Russian domestic consumption in Chechnya, US Gov't purchases of 7.62x39mm for Afghanistan and Iraq (seriously), and shipping issues. The ammo situation should stabilize pretty soon though. It's starting to come back. |

Rule of thumb for AK magazines. If it's made outside the US, you're good to go. No worries about special followers or who made them under what moon or anything like that. Bulgarian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, East German......any AK-74 magazine will work fine. Even beat to shit. Beat up Russian plum magazine, still works like a champ.
