Hello, I am new to the board. I have an Arsenal SA93 that I have been trying to convert to a no-ban configuration. I have run into a snag with the gas block. I ordered one from K-var that was too big. It measured 0.633" I.D. My Barrel measures 0.629" O.D. over the gas port. I sent my old one back to K-var with my measurements. Bob said that they did not have any to fit and he was waiting on a new shipment. I emailed Global Trades, and they said all of their blocks measure 0.631" I.D. Has anyone else ran into a problem like this while tinkering with an SA93? Any ideas on fixes or alternate vendors for the gas Block. It's been going on three weeks since I sent the part back. I recieved this gun as an X-mas gift from my wife, and have only been able to fire it in a 25' indoor range. The weather is fianlly warming up here and I want to take it out and really run it through it's paces. Please Help! Scott. |

Sounds like a classic case of hurry up and wait, I know it's frustrating. I haven't heard of the barrels on the SA-93 being slightly smaller in OD though, that's interesting. K-Var will get you hooked up, just give Bob a call back every week or so and you should be able to get one when their shipment comes in. |

I'm having the exact same problem converting my SA-93. ID needs to be .630 or less for a snug fit. The gas block I got from K-Var measures .634. I think I may have a source for a Russian take-off, that will be the right size. If it pans out, and he has more, I'll pass it along to you. |

Thanks for the info. I hope K-VAR can come through, but dang it I want my rifle back! Gunpartsinc.com has Soviet take of blocks, but it does not say if they were AKM or what. This was my first semi auto millitary style rifle and I am hooked. Already making plans to get an AK-74. All this love affair with AK's started last fall, when I asked the clerk at a shop to show me a Bushmaster AR-15M4. He handed me the WASR 10 that was right next to it by mistake, and it was all down hill from there. Sorry Bushmaster! Scott. |
How the hell could he mistake an AK for an AR! ![]()
