I have a friend that has given up on trying to buy an Ar 15 and I think I have convinced
him to buy and AK 47.  I have two Vector AK 47's purchased 5+ years ago but I cannot see they
are available anymore.
He is willing to spend up to $900 - $1000 on a new AK 47, preferably from a
site like Atlantic Firearms.

Which of the Arsenals would you suggest he could get on a waiting list for that has
the capability of mounting a scope or holgraphic site on?

Any comments are appreciated.

I bought an Arsenal SLR-101s about two months ago. Its a milled bulgarian AK and its an excellent rifle. I would highly recommend it. Im not sure you can find one for $1000 dollars now though.

I too would say get an Arsenal (Bulgaria) SLR-101. Otherwise go for an SGL-26 (Russian), K-Var had them in stock the other day for $1049.
