I really want to get an SA M7 with fixed stock right now. One that is new, I found an underfolder version but I am wondering if it is worth it? I hear underfolders are very uncomfortable to shoot. Is the SAS M7 more of just a collector type AK? I'm assuming it would not be cost efficient to convert an underfolder to fixed stock

Underfolders are OK, but you should really shoot one before you buy one. Comfort varies for different shooters. The SASM7 is nice, and not particularly a collector (excluding the SASM7 Classic), but if you really want a fixed stock, then buy a fixed stock. In terms of fixed stocks, the SAM7 is a great AK, but the SLR101S is a better choice right now, as it is a true Bulgy import. Same general rifle, but more valuable going forward. The SAM7 has a US-made receiver.

I have a SAS M7 classic, I do not find the underfolder to be uncomfortable at all, but comfort varies with people...

I wanted a folder.

If you know you want a fixed stock, go with it... unless you can afford to get both

The Sam 7 is a shooter, while the Sam 7 Classic I would classify as a collectable since it closely resembles a type 3 milled AK from the 50's. The Sam 7 is similar to the current commercially milled AK that is used around the world. A milled receiver with parts from the newer AKM, & AK 100 guns. The Sam 7 receiver is 80% made in Bulgaria, & finished in the USA.  GARY

This is correct, but still referred to as a US-made receiver, and engraved as such. Same quality and construction, but "slightly" less desireable to buyers/collectors.

Thanks, the reason I bring up the SA M7 and not the SLR 101 is because where I live anything with "SLR" on it is illegal, while SA M7 is perfectly fine. No reason other than a few letters on the receiver

Are you looking at a Classic or no? How much? The are nice- both versions. I really like my Classic. I enjoy UFs. I know some people do not like them, but I actually prefer them
