I have always been gay for underfolders, I want to convert my SLR-95. Any Idea of what this would cost? Any potential problems? m4whore

a lot of machining. You'd be better off just buying a yugo or something.

+1

Expense of machining and cost of parts (ie., underfolder stock and rear trunion)

If I recall correctly, the old owner of the old Arsenal USA told me here at a gun show once it would be around $500

By chance, I already have the underfolder but not the trunion. Is the trunion even necessary in a milled receiver? Wouldn't drilling the same pattern in the receiver wall do the trick? m4whore

I've never had, nor handled a milled underfolder, but that seems right.

It's not that easy to do with hand tools. I converted 4 SLR-100 receivers when I worked at Blue Ridge and there was a lot of machining involved. The back end of the rec. needs to be opened up to the same interior dimensions from the back edge all the way forward to around the p-grip area. A plate needs to be made and welded into the back of the rec or you will have a big hole at the rear. The rec. is very hard drilling through that is not as easy as some would lead you to believe, it is not impossible either, just not super easy.

You will not need the trunnion for anything other than lining up the holes to mark and cut/drill them out.

I would not do it.  I would just buy an UF and call it a day.  Just make sure you like shooting UF's before you buy/make one, a lot of people dont.
