I purchased a 14x1 LH slant break from Tapco to replace the barrel nut on the end of my Intrac Maadi ARM rifle. Problem is the threads screw down fine, but they run out before the bottom of the break becomes flush. So now there is a space between the front sight and the bottom of the break. And all those unused barrel threads are visible. My question is, are the AK slant breaks sold in different lengths, or is there generally one standard length. If this thing only had more threads inside to make it down to the front sight, it would be perfect. Any info/suggestions woul be appreciated... Thanx. |

MAK, Thanx for the reply... I measured the barrel threads and it's identical to the one you have pictured. When I put the slant break on again, I looked in with a flashlight and saw that all of the internal grooves for the break were being used. I'm still shy about 3 whole turns maybe. The space left between the break and the FSB is more than you have pictured above and you can clearly see the unused grooves in that gap. You mentioned the AK-74 break... Will that fit all the way down you think, or will I encounter the same problem??? |

First day with my AKS and i already have a problem. (my fault) I took the break off to clean all the "gunk" that is on the rifle and when i try to put the slant break back on it has play in it. Looks like a bullet coming out may actually hit the break... should there be any play in it? i dont recall it being anything but nice and tight when i took it off but now its not "lining up with the pin correctly. urggggg |
