I have a brand new US Arsenal AK47.  I took it to the range and the bolt was sticking in the open position after each shot.  I am thinking that it just needs to be broken in a little and then it'll work fine.  Any suggestions on how to speed up this process?  thanks.

Arsenal Inc. from Las Vegas, NV or Arsenal USA from Galveston, TX?

What's the model of the rifle?  Caliber?

Did you clean and lube the rifle prior to getting to the range?

Sorry,   it is an Armory USA SSR-85.  I cleaned it prior to firing.  I fired about 10 rounds and had to knudge the bolt forward each time.  I took it home, stripped it, and cycled it about 50 times.  This seemed to help, it's only hanging up 75% of the time now.

Suspect the carrier is rubbing the top of the hammer. Take the top cover off, pull the carrier, mark the top of the hammer, insert and cycle carrier, pull carrier, see if it rubs even when the hammer is set back.

Not that they should all do that...but a dremel buff on the high spot may speed up the wear-in process.

It stops all the way back.  I have been really busy with work and haven't had time to polish the hammer to see if that will help

Also consider pulling the fcg and cycling to see if it still hangs up. If so, rec is a bit off and rails may need a bit of trimming. High hammers usually hang it up halfway.

its stopping all the way back its a prob with your rifle not the hammer
the rear block was installed to far back into the rec
theres 3 ways i know of to fix this prob

1. install a buffer simple fix but the rifle will have probs without it

2. find a new recoil spring some have alot larger slot in the rear then others
(1 with a smaller slot wont alow the carrier to come back as far and it wont hang )

3. put a small tack weld inside the recoil ass (same effect as #2)

I had the same issue with a WSAR-10 I had. I would pull the charging handel all the way back and if I road it back in the slightest it would rest on the hammer. Fireing was fine and if I let it snap back hard no issues. Took the dremel to the hammer and now it works flawless. If you do have to dremel it pull the bolt carrier out and then pull the trigger  to release the hammer, it is easier to dremel the hammer in the fired position.

I called Armory USA this morning and explained the problem to them.  Without hesitation they gave me a UPS pick order.  They said send it back to us, we'll look at it, fix what needs fixing and get it right back out to you.  Awesome customer service.
