Purchased a push-button wire side folder a while back for my WASR GP75. Finally located a range in the area  close by, and wanted to try and address this problem if possible. When the stock is locked "open" it's got a bit of wiggle in it, just enough to be obnoxious when shouldering the rifle. Im curious to know if anyone has had the same problem, and if it's fixable? Figured I'd ask here and see if a home fix is possible before taking the stock to a gunsmith in the area...

Any suggestions or tips? Thanks!

Virtually all folding stocks on any weapon will have at least some wobble.  That's just the nature of a folder.
The AK under folder and wire folders seem to have more.
Due to the design, there's really no way to tighten them fully, and with use they'll loosen more.

This is the price you pay to get a folder.

Thought about taking it to a local shop and seeing if they might apply a bead of weld and a bushing. It seems the locking groove has been rounded off somewhat and is what gives it the bit of wiggle. However there's an ever-so-small gap between the stock and the side sling swivel attached to it, thinking hat's where the weld would be best applied. Looking into it at my next availability.

Don't weld on it, you'll end up ruining it. If you want to fill that gap, insert a small thin C-clip and push it in until you hear it click around the hinge pin. Then lube it good.

Any pics of what this looks like? Took it out shooting today, and while not uncomfortable, the wobble affected shot groupings a bit, even at just 25yrds.

The wire folder has a pad on the inside left that is designed to be filed for fit.

You need to determine if the  plunger is fully engaged and there is still wobble, in which case welding up the pad and resurfacing is in order.

If the  plunger is not fully engaged  is the plunger incompletely engaged, is it there something binding to prevent it from engaging completely?

If the pad is correct for holding the stock straight, and the plunger is bottomed out  you may  be able to file the plunger to increase its travel or you may need to weld up the cut in the pivot and resurface.

There were a bunch of these stocks that were welded in the open position during the  AW ban and sometimes they weld is cut away too enthusiastically. .
