Hi all!

I just bought a new arsenal and the tapco trigger.  Once installed I noticed occasionally the trigger would hang onto the disconnector and not fire when trigger was pulled.  I could manually push it back a little farther to create the issue, but it normal operation it only happened every so often.  If pushed the trigger to the left it would let trigger reset properly.  After searching exhaustively I found that the G2 kit was supposed to come with a sleeve that the pin goes through and mine did not.  Is this sleeve integral for every G2 kit?  Any advice is appreciated. By the way its a single hook.

You can take your G2 FCG out and assemble it outside of the rifle (with the pin through it) and you should be able to see if it's missing a sleeve.

I know the sleeve isnt there.  I compared to pics from tapco.  I just am not sure if the retaining plate lines everything up and makes the sleeve uncessary.  I just stayed with the shepards hook and didnt use retaining plate. It sounds like this thing will not function without sleeve. Just wanted to be sure before I returned it for a missing part.

Every G2 fcg I've ever seen has had the sleeve. Without it the holes in the trigger and disconnector are too large which could cause the failures you've described.
Try contacting TAPCO and describe the problem. Perhaps they'll send you the sleeve, which would save some time.

Nope, all the retaining plate does is replace the wire, nothing else. You definitely need the sleeve. I'd do what POLYTHENEPAM said and contact TAPCO. The worst they can say is "Buy another one".
