| I just picked up an Interarms ak47 from Atlantic Firearms. I originally thought the front sight was canted but it appears that the ladder sight is angled to the right. I think everthing else is lined up straight. Is this a minor fix or should I send it back for repair? |

If you want to do it yourself, you need to determine what is out of wack. it could be the rail portion, or it could be a bur on the inside of where the "axle" portion fits in the RSB. The former is pretty straight forward - compare with a depth micrometer and file the high side. The latter is a PITA. You can squeeze in their with a small ball-headed burr on a dremel, but it is tough. Also check that one side of the "axle" on the ladder sight itself isn't misshapen.

oddly, I just noticed this earlier this week on a polish AKMS underfolder RSB I was installing. At first I was thinking I was lining up parts wrong and my FSB was canted or someething and I scratched my head on that one.
Luckily, I read this thread and Gunplumber and others answered my unasked question for me!

| I popped in another ladder sight from my ak74 just to see and the alignment was straight. I contacted Atlantic Firearms, where I purchased, and they contacted Interarms who is reluctantly sending me a new ladder sight. I'm thinking that my sight was milled incorrectly. |
