hey guys, im having a problem with my wasr 10...yeah yeah i know

anyways, i noticed that the pins holding the trigger assembly in place in the receiver are extremely loose when the hammer isnt under tension and have rattled out on me at the range.

is this a common problem and is there a simple fix?

please dont tell me to buy a new rifle :)

Your shepherds crook isn't installed correctly. It's that thing that looks like a bent up paper clip. It's job is to hold the pins in place side to side by sitting in the grooves of the pins. Here is a video someone made showing the correct way to install it. If yours is the other style crook, then it's a little different.

If you have any trouble getting the wire to stay in place, try getting one of these pin retaining plates.
They are real easy to install, it fixed my problems.

I personally like the Tapco shephards hook and also you can use C Clips on the seprate pins....

the shephards crook was installed incorrectly and wasnt applying pressure to the pin :)

took her out to the range sunday and she shoots like a dream, unfortunately now im having problems with the mag release, having to pry it forward to get it to release, seems to stick after being fired, when its cold it works fine
