| just got this AK today i got it used and i'm having some problems with the bolt closing on a chambered round, if i insert a new mag and pull it all the way to the rear and release it it will close on the round but it will not cycle on it's own, the bolt hits right on the lip of the chambered round, any ideas? first AK and i know nothing about them |
Try a differant magazine, if problem is still there,Chances are that the Magazine catch is just a tad too short. Try pulling the inserted mag towards the rear as much as it will go and try firing it. If it seems to function better then this would definatly point to a problem in the mag catch. You can replace the mag catch with a longer one and file it down till it fits snuggly with mag inserted, or simply add some materila (Mig weld, braze) and file it to fit.
